Great Dates For Summer

Summer’s is not very far from here and the warm weather and long days make it the perfect season for creative dates. We contacted a relationship expert Alex Wise from Loveawake free dating service and asked Alex to name his favorite and non-cliché date ideas.

Seven Favorite Fun-In-The-Sun – Great Dates For Summer!

Here comes the list of Alex’s seven favorite fun-in-the-sun summer activities:

#1. Visit An Observatory

Few things are more romantic than a star-studded sky. Look for constellations, spot shooting stars, and bask in the moonlit glow.

#2. Watch a movie

Watch a movie at an old-fashioned drive-in. Drive-in movie theaters are slowly disappearing, but there are a few gems left scattered across the country. Bonus points if you have a convertible or a truck, but any car will do for a step back in time at an affordable price.

#3. Go Canoeing

It’ll take some teamwork to paddle your canoe, so see how well you can work together by renting one for an hour or two and exploring a local lake or river. It’s peaceful on the water, but it’s also a great active date for those tired of the dinner-and-a-movie routine.

#4. Stop By A Farmers’ Market

Many towns feature a farmers’ market at least once a week in which you can scoop up fresh produce and other goods grown locally. Buy enough for lunch, put your loot in a basket, and have a picnic.

#5. Attend An Outdoor Music Festival

Summer is the season for concerts — from small, local events to big productions like Lollapalooza (Chicago, Aug. 6-8), Musikfest (Bethlehem, Pa., Aug. 6-15), Bumbershoot (Seattle, Sept. 4-6), and the Vans Warped Tour (rotating locations, all summer long).

#6. Watch A Minor-League Baseball Game

There’s nothing like baseball in the summer — the smell of the grass, the popcorn, the ice cream that comes in an upside-down baseball cap. If you don’t have an MLB team in your area (or even if you do), support your local minor-league team — the food is cheaper, the seats are closer, and cheering for the home team is just as fun.

#7. Play Beach Volleyball

You don’t have to live on the California coastline — or be a pro — to enjoy a recreational game of beach volleyball. Many bars and parks have courts set up if there are no sandy spots near you, so get out there and bump, set, spike (or just get the ball over the net by any means possible) with the sand between your toes.
